Welcome to Walker County Amateur Radio Club. As you might
guess, we are located in Walker County, Alabama and our Club
callsign is WR4Y. We hold regular monthly meeting
on the fourth Tuesday evening at 6:30 PM. Drop by a meeting
to visit us. You are invited to join us for our Monday
evening net and for breakfast at Gabby's Resturant on the
second Saturday morning each month.
Currently this site is undergoing a remake. We apologize for
the abridged version.
Congratulations to Ariel Hill.
Ariel is 12 and passed her license exam
at our latest test session. Ariel had no problems passing her
exam. I
wasn't sure the proud parents were going to be able to get those big
grins through the door on the way out. HI HI She has received
her
call and I bet Mom and Dad are having to wait their turn for the radio.
It's great when our youth decide to become hams when they are at a
young age. Enjoy that ticket, Ariel.
Please join us for our Monday night net. We hold a net each monday night at 8:00 PM local time on 146.64/.04 repeater. No tone. required.
The Alabama QSO Party will be the
first weekend in June this year, June 2 & 3, 2007.
New dates and new rules this year. The QSO party is a fun
event you really should try. The later in the evening it gets
the crazier it can get.
